Connecting Social Platforms

Step-by-step OAuth setup for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.

Supported Platforms

PRISM integrates with 6 major social platforms: Instagram (Business and Creator accounts), TikTok (Business accounts), YouTube (via Google OAuth), Twitter/X (API v2), LinkedIn (Company Pages and personal profiles), and Pinterest (Business accounts). Each integration uses the platform's official OAuth flow with read-only permissions.

Instagram Setup

Navigate to Settings → Connected Platforms → Instagram. Click "Connect Instagram." You'll be redirected to Meta's OAuth page. Authorize PRISM to access your Instagram Business or Creator account. Required: your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account (not personal). If you have a personal account, convert it in Instagram Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account. After authorization, PRISM pulls your last 90 days of post data, stories engagement, and audience demographics.

If you manage multiple Instagram accounts, make sure you're logged into the correct one before authorizing. You can connect multiple accounts under separate workspaces.

TikTok Setup

Navigate to Settings → Connected Platforms → TikTok. Click "Connect TikTok." Authorize via TikTok's Business API OAuth flow. Required: a TikTok Business account. PRISM accesses video performance data, audience insights, and trending audio data. Note: TikTok's API has rate limits that may cause the initial data pull to take 3–5 minutes for accounts with 500+ videos.

YouTube Setup

Navigate to Settings → Connected Platforms → YouTube. Click "Connect YouTube." This uses Google OAuth — log into the Google account that owns your YouTube channel. PRISM accesses video analytics, subscriber data, and audience retention metrics. For channels with multiple owners, the person who connects must be a channel manager or owner.

Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest

Each follows the same pattern: navigate to Connected Platforms, click Connect, and complete the OAuth flow. Twitter/X uses API v2 and requires a developer-associated account. LinkedIn supports both Company Pages (for brand accounts) and personal profiles (for creator accounts). Pinterest requires a Business account for full analytics access.

Troubleshooting

If a connection fails, check these common issues: (1) Your account type must be Business or Creator, not personal. (2) Pop-up blockers may prevent the OAuth window — allow pop-ups from prism.onprism.io. (3) If you recently changed your platform password, you may need to re-authorize. (4) Some platforms have API rate limits that temporarily prevent new connections — wait 15 minutes and try again. For persistent issues, contact help@onprism.io.
